I finally had the chance to work for AT&T for two months during my full time experience in Turkcell. Turkcell is the leading telecom carrier in Turkey, while AT&T is not only the worlds leading telecom carrier but also a corporation that has the three screen advertising strategy.

Just a short bio about myself, I received my bachelor degree from Koc University in Economics with %100 scholarship in 2006. I realized that  technical requirements are low for the application called QR CODE READER. If you have a camera in you mobile, I am sure it supports QR Code! Anyway check it out @ http://www.upc.fi/en/upcode/suitablephones/

DoCoMo i-mate supports QR Codes and it is the leading operator that use QR Codes which is a bridge between digital and hardcopy ( magazines, cans, outdoor etc…)

Pepsi UK printed QR Codes to 400 million cans ( incredible!!!) and I am sure they are waiting to become a success story! Please  visit http://www.pepsi.co.uk/qrcodes.aspx

The difficult part is assuring people to install QR Codes to their mobiles, if you are an operator its easy for you! But not, you should think twice before you plan a mobile marketing campaign using QR Codes.

I’ve just become aware of OnMobile with its Ad RBT platform nominated as Best Mobile Advertising Award in GSMA Asia. But Telstra Corporation, Australia for Telstra Mobile Codes is the award winner for this category. Mobile Codes and Mobile Ticketing is future of integrating events with mobile. I guess operators should cooperate with  event technology providers like Ticketmaster to increase the penetration.

This tone assures the calling party that a ringing signal is being sent on the called party’s line, although the ring-back tone may be out of sync with the ringing signal.” RBT is one the best revenue generating value added service for telecom operator. There are two main revenue generators of RBT;

  • Monthly subscribtion: Each subscriber has to pay a montly fee to use RBT platform unless he bought nothing as a RBT content.
  • Content fee: When you subscribed to RBT, you also buy RBT contents to let your callers listen.

Now we should add a new revenue generator for RBT service; AD RBT! Professionals talks about advertising through Ringbacktone platform since 2003; and finally Turkcell & 4Play launched TonlaKazan ( Tone&Win) at May, 2008 (www.tonlakazan.com).
